The building & facilities

A home full of character

All 25 of our bedrooms are situated on the ground and first floor of this light and airy Edwardian house, which sits on a leafy, residential road. The house has been sympathetically adapted to retain many period characteristics whilst providing vital modern features such as a lift and wheelchair ramps. The gardens are overlooked by a lounge and dining room that provide space for residents to socialise, and the property backs onto a local park. The Home is equipped with assisted-grade facilities and well-considered, communal social spaces. Avon House is structured to enable us to develop a family atmosphere of inclusiveness and is comfortably furnished to a high standard.

Worthing & surrounding area

Out and about

With its beach and rolling Sussex countryside, Worthing is a popular retirement destination. With cafes serving traditional cream teas to micro pubs, to its famous pier, Worthing is a place full of surprises. By train it is 90 minutes from London Victoria and 20 minutes from Brighton. Worthing and its environs provide many options for residents' days-out and residents' families enjoy its traditional seaside atmosphere.

Testimonials

“I would definitely recommend Avon House to friends and family, excellent quality of care. The environment is comfortable, clean and homely. I have always been kept very well informed about every aspect of Mum's care. The staff are always caring, supportive and sympathetic. Thanks for caring for our Mum so well and for your continuing support and excellent care.”

“I feel so lucky that my mum is at Avon House. The staff and management always show care and consideration to the residents and treat them with respect. I feel that mum is safe and well looked after and as happy as she can be. I am always made to feel welcome when I visit Avon House to see mum and am kept up to date with any health issues that may arise. Knowing mum is in such a caring, clean and happy environment gives me real peace of mind.”

“Mum always looks clean and at her best. We think the staff are all great, everything is explained fully whenever we need to know anything. Everything at the home is kept nice and clean and it is very welcoming. We are so glad Mum can spend her last years at Avon House.”
